Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high performance automobiles. At its most widely accepted the term refers to American 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size cars equipped with large, powerful V8s, and sold at an affordable price for street use and drag racing, formally and informally. As such, they are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing, although in many examples the road holding was substantially upgraded over the model from which it was derived. These upgrades were often a key selling point, and a common misconception is that cornering prowess was dismissed in the development of muscle cars. Building on the American phenomenon and developing simultaneously in their own markets, muscle cars also emerged in their own fashions in Australia, South Africa, the UK, and elsewhere. Right now I'm looking at a second generation Camaro(1971) or a first generation Firebird(1969). I'm not too experienced with cars, I've just always love old muscle cars. I am going to go look at the '69 Firebird in a couple days and want to know some things I should look for and questions to ask. Your answers are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. If there is something you dont like about it that doesnt fit the price, ask them to lower the price down in order to fix it. As far as the car itself, ask for a drive in it and see if you notice anything strange that isnt how it should be. Also see if it has been in any accidents or maintained well (kept records are always a plus) Answered by sniperlif3 - Wed Jun 23 17:55:14 2010 how do I start to build a muscle car engine? Q. Wnat to start looking into building a muscle car engine for a mustang, chevelle, nova, camaro, or GTO. Where should I start? Any good websites out there? Should I buy a broken down one and build it, or should I start from scratch with the engine block? Thanks for answering! Asked by Colin W - Fri Mar 26 11:47:01 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. First, you need to set a reasonable budget. You need to decide how much you are willing to spend before you start buying parts. You need to decide what manufacturer vehicle it will go into. You don't want to spend a lot of time and money building a Chevy motor if it will be going into a Ford or a Dodge. If you are going to put the motor in a Chevy, then build a Chevy motor. Next you need to decide how this motor will be used and what modifications will be done. This must be done early in the process. For example if you intend to use a supercharger or a turbocharger you will want to use a lower compression ratio than if you use a carburetor only. You must decide a reasonable RPM range as many components are designed to work best… [cont.] Answered by Mad Jack - Fri Mar 26 12:07:15 2010 What is the name of the muscle car in the horror movie High Tension?
Q. I saw the horror flick High Tension and I am trying to figure out the type of yellow muscle car the Gas Station attendant had that the lady stole to chase after the killer. Or if it's even a muscle car at all since the movie is from France. Asked by Randy Jay - Mon Jan 15 14:53:25 2007 - - 0 Answers - 0 Comments A. All the clues point to it being a modified Peugeot. For some reason the information mentions that the van is a citroen, but none of the reviews mention a specific name of the auto.
