Where can I find a list of Trade Publications for the Energy Industry, including circulation amounts?
Q. I'm looking for a directory of top trade magazines/publications for the Energy Industry. The catch. . . I need to know the circulation numbers. Does anyone have a suggestion? I know that Bacon's media source has this info, but does anyone know where I can get it for free? I'm trying to compile a list of the top Trade Publications for the Energy Industry for a research paper, sorted by circulation. I won't be placing ads, I just need the info for a market research report.

Do you know any publications which refuse to give out copy approval before press?
Q. I'm looking to cause a scene. Copy approval is the right to read and amend and article before publication. I know there are some publications which do not consent to copy approval, and let their writers publish their articles as they are. I'm in need for some names of such publications, please! Big points for whomever can get me some legitimate names as quickly as possible.

A. I don't know of a single legitimate newspaper or magazine (in the U.S. at least) that would allow writers to publish unedited copy or, in your words, "publish their articles as they are." That's a great way to invite lawsuits, given that the publication is liable for all information it publishes, and allowing writers approval over their own copy could invite slander (at worst) or misinformation (at least). If you need names of publications that do not allow writers to approve their own copy, for starters I'd just throw out, oh, Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, etc. The list is endless. If, on the other had, you are looking for a list of legitimate names of publications… [cont.]
