A. best way to learn is to do it yourself, seriously. try to get an internship at a body shop, or if you're still in high school, see if there is a vocational school nearby. if you want to learn on your own, just find an old car you can buy for a couple hundred dollars and just start working on it. you cant hurt in anymore than it already is and after a while you'll figure out what you're doing and get experience at the same time. good luck!

Sure, there are a few shops that have made good money off it legitimately (as in, not by ripping people off), but most of them did so by beginning to manufacture their own parts. IE HKS, Saleen, Steeda, Tomei, RUF, etc. Also, you need to pick a specialization. Are you going to focus on mustangs, or supras? Race cars or show cars? Or street cars for that matter? A. That is more of ordering a normal car, then taking it to a body modification shop. Most dealerships will not "custom" order a modified car, so it is a two step process. The cost? You may have to buy 2 cars to create your one special then pay to have it done. 15-20K to mod the car at least, that is over the purchase price of the car.
