A Lowrider is a style of car originated by Chicanos that has had its suspension system modified (with hydraulic suspension) so that it rides as low as possible. Lowriders often have user-controlled height adjustable suspension. Lowriders are very often classic cars from the 1950s which rode low to begin with, although large numbers of 1940s and 1960s cars are also modified, and to a lesser degree newer vehicles. The word is also used to refer to those who drive or own such cars. A lowrider will traditionally have many factory offered accessories / options and often many aftermarket accessories added. Lowriders sound pretty awful for the price. If you're okay with open headphones (sound may leak at loud volumes), the Koss PortaPros and Sennheiser PX100s are absolutely unbeatable for the price. Both can be had for $30-35 at online retailers like Amazon. Other good and closed (don't leak sound) alternatives are the JVC M750 ($50 at amazon), Soundmagic P10's ($25 at mp4nation.net), and JVC S150 "Flats" ($5-9 on ebay).
