Nounvehicles
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A vehicle (Latin: vehiculum) is a mechanical means of conveyance, a carriage or transport. Most often they are manufactured (e.g. bicycles, cars, motorcycles, trains, ships, boats, and aircraft), although some other means of transport which are not made by humans also may be called vehicles; examples include icebergs and floating tree trunks. Vehicles may be propelled or pulled by engines or animals including humans, for instance, a chariot, a stagecoach, a mule-drawn barge, an ox-cart or rickshaw. However, animals on their own, though used as a means of transport, are not called vehicles, but rather beasts of burden or draft animals. This distinction includes humans carrying another human, for example a child or a disabled person. Means of transport without a vehicle or animal would include walking, running, crawling, or swimming. Vehicles that do not travel on land often are called craft, such as watercraft, sailcraft, aircraft, hovercraft, and spacecraft Land vehicles are classified broadly by what is used to apply steering and drive forces against the ground: wheeled, tracked, railed, or skied. Q. The IRS publications just say you can deduct "sales tax paid on leased vehicles," but doesn't say how to calculate that. Does that mean to take the sum of the sales tax on all of the payments for the tax year, or figure out the sales tax on the amount that used used for calculating the lease? If the former, does that mean you can do it every year, or only the year in which you leased the vehicle? Asked by aviators99 - Sun Jan 28 00:20:23 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. When you lease a vehicle, the sales tax is applied to each payment (you pay sales tax with each monthly lease payment). If the monthly statement from the lessor does not break down the payment between the lease payment and the sales tax, you can take the lease payment and divide it by 1 + your sales tax rate to determine the lease payment BEFORE sales tax. The difference between your regular lease payment and the calculated lease payment before sales tax will be the amount of sales tax. It doesn't matter whether you do the calculation from month to month, or add up the payments for the year. Since the lease payment is the same each month, the amount of sales tax will be the same each month as well. You can only deduct the sales tax… [cont.] Answered by jseah114 - Sun Jan 28 03:00:38 2007 How come a lot of police and Ambulance vehicles have the words "Police and Ambulace" backwards? Q. Answered by stung4ever - Wed Aug 15 17:47:13 2007 Why do so many buy vehicles before checking out their frequency of repair before making a committment?
Q. I see so many who think Jeeps or Dodges are so cool, or some Chevys or many other vehilces, why dont they read up on these and see which cars and models and vehicles are terrible for frequency of repairs? If youre intelligent, why wouldnt you get all the facts before buying something expensive just because its red, or fast, or pretty, or cool? Asked by R H - Sat May 10 22:37:47 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Great question! Most people buy most things based on emotion rather than facts. This is actually how most companies market their products. Answered by Scott - Sat May 10 22:45:38 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "vehicles" |
